In all my school life my worst subjects were English, History and anything to do with reading or creative writing. I loved working with figures though. Every time we returned to school from vacation, the custom of the English teachers was to have us write an essay on what we did for our vacation. I would write the same thing over and over every school term, so I did not have to give it much thought. Thank God they never caught up with me! I do not know how I managed to scrape a pass in my English examination.

I guess it was a gift from God. I can count the number of books I read in my first forty years with the fingers on my left hand. From the time I started to read, my eyes would just grow weary, I would begin to feel sleepy and before you know it, I was fast asleep. The Bible for me in those days was a sleeping pill without any side effects.

Now that I have come to know the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as my SAVIOR, I have seen Him turning my life around. God has blessed me in so many ways, it is unbelievable.

When I questioned Him, “Lord, why didn’t I have a relationship with You when I was much younger?” I would hear this answer in my heart, “It is all in My timing. All things work together for the good of those who love Me; those who are called to My purpose.” So, I would then ask Him “What is my purpose?” and the answer would always be “To love Me and to let people know about Me.” I felt the urge to get to know God better and I understood that the correct way to do this was by reading His Word, the Bible. When I finally made up my mind to read the Bible, before I started, I prayed and asked God to reveal Himself to me and to help me to stay awake.

It was the first time I ever really enjoyed reading something and I could not believe that I was missing this all of my life.

The bible is like a Life Manual. There are answers for everything! Any situation in your life that you are going through, God has something in His Word to reveal to you.

Since then, I have been reading books upon books alongside the Bible and I am amazed by the love of God. He has also inspired me to write about Him. I would say to Him “Lord, You have to show me what to write because I can’t do it on my own” and He is always faithful to give me the right words. In my case, God has taken me, a person who detested reading and writing and turned my life around. I have reached the point that I cannot get enough time to read and I now enjoy writing about my Lord and Saviour.

My dear friends, I am living proof that God can turn lives around. If you are wondering why He is taking so long, don’t be dismayed, He does everything in His timing. God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

I thank you Lord for the work you are doing in my life, for the gift to write about You and Your love for us and I pray that you will continue to use me in whatever way you see fit, to advance Your Kingdom here on earth, in Jesus name I pray.
