Why are we fighting against each other when we should be fighting together? Take your guns from off of people, because they don’t want to hurt you and aim it on the devil instead. He is the enemy. The devil is looking for those that he can devour. His plan is to steal, kill and destroy. Therefore, take captive of every wicked thought, because if you don’t, it becomes an imagination / self image and the devil will deceive you to do something dirty.

It then becomes a stronghold over your life, a pattern that you cannot breakout on your own. Stop thinking negative thoughts and stop speaking it. You give birth to a negative thought when you speak it and it grows as you continue saying it. But if you speak God’s words instead, you will overcome it. Take back negative words, stop yourself when speaking negative words and tell God, you did not mean this. Remember, His word says you will be walking in victory.

If we are true Christians, the Holy Spirit is on our side and the promises of God’s Word are with us.

You will be set free through the word of the living God. So we have to take captive of every evil thought that crosses our mind and keep on saying the words of God. Confess the word of God over your life. (Isaiah 54:17) No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise up against me in judgement I shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, says the Lord. Everyone loves this verse, but are we all entitled to it? No. Look at the verse again, it ends This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. That is why I indicated above, if we are true Christians, the Holy Spirit is on our side and the promises of God’s Word are with us.

We cannot have one foot inside and one foot outside.

We most times want to live for God and we also want to live for worldly things. That is being undecided and it leaves openings for attacks by the enemy. The devil was given dominion over this world when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. Satan is the ruler of this world. He even tried to use the worldly things to tempt Jesus Christ with, after He had been baptized and fasted for forty days in the wilderness. So who are we? The enemy will dangle a nice car, house, woman, man or money in front of us, if he knows we want it more than God. These are all distractions to keep your mind off of God. Don’t let him deceive you. He will try guilt, poverty, sickness, tragedies, shame, addictions, envy, fear, slander and worry to separate you from Almighty God. But the Lord is our light and salvation, whom shall we fear?

The Lord is the strength of our life, of whom shall we be afraid?

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross. Jesus paid the ultimate price for all our sins and by doing this, He made a way to restore us onto God. He rose from the dead on the third day and defeated Satan. Jesus took back all authority over the heavens and the earth from Satan.

When we put our trust in what Jesus did for us, repent from our sins and invite Him to live in us, we are now children of the Most High. Don’t even think for one moment that no evil will come your way or you will be living a smooth life from then onwards. No, you will continue to be faced with storms and trials, however, you will no longer be in the quick-sand sinking, but standing on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.

(Ephesian 6:10-18) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

God is so great that He has given us the full armor to defeat the enemy. The girdle of truth stands for honesty, sincerity, openness and frankness. The breastplate of righteousness comes from God on the basis of faith and love. Not in self righteousness, but that which is through faith and love in Jesus Christ. The shoes of the preparation of the gospel include the study of the Scripture, memorization of the Scripture and the ability to communicate intelligently the gospel message. The shield of faith is for protection and provision for ourselves and all whom God has committed to us. The helmet of salvation protects the mind by hope. Hope is an optimistic attitude that always chooses to see the best and will not give way to depression, doubt and self-pity. The sword of the spirit is the Word of God.

The sword of the spirit or the Word of God is not only used as a defensive armor like the rest, but it is the most offensive weapon to drive off the devil. When Jesus was dealing with Satan, He always used the weapon of the Word of God against him. “It is written… It is written… It is also written.” Beware though, there is an unprotected area, which is your back. Never turn your back to the enemy because he can always wound you in that place which is not protected. Therefore, you must always be alert and never grow weary. Stay focused and learn how to use your armor effectively, to defend against the attacks and to destroy the enemy.

God bless.
