Soon to be a word that you will rarely hear in a message – REPENT! As many Churches are beginning to preach a Gospel with no offense, that is socially acceptable under the guise of love.
Sadly, when the word “REPENT” is preached, people don’t even know what to repent of.
Preachers speak of sin as an abstract or in generality without any specifics.
Even the word “REPENT” is being redefined into a generic term to only mean “change your mind” without any biblical context.
Isaiah, the Prophet spoke of this time of great deception on the earth:
“They tell the seers, “Stop seeing visions!” They tell the prophets, “Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.” – Isaiah 30:10
You cannot read the Bible and naturally conclude the tone and content of what many preach today.
The Bible is very specific on what sin looks like and speaks of its ultimate consequence. Here is what Paul wrote:
“Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people–none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Unfortunately, many will miss the Kingdom of God because of false teachers who like Judas, betray the Gospel by an act of love. Any preacher who uses God’s love to make light of sin is deceived. What is at stake is the eternity of a soul. The reality of Hell is an everlasting witness to today’s preachers.
Paul, the apostle farewell address to leaders and pastors:
“And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more. Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.” Acts 20:25-31
