Honour your mother and father. This can be difficult when they have hurt you or even abused you. Yet, your parents are one of the first sovereign acts of God in your life. Moses seemed to be abandoned by his mom and dad but God turned the whole situation around for good. Faith can turn any situation into God’s glory.
Do you know what your mom and dad’s parents were like?
Maybe they were also hurt by their parents. Maybe they were never loved and don’t know how to love. Maybe there were demonic spirits in their life. God’s love can conquer anything. Through the love of God you can heal the hurts of generations.
If a Holy God can forgive a wretch like me, I guess a wretch like me can forgive a wretch like you. Why not forgive your mom and dad today and begin to love and honour them, even if they don’t deserve it.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean trust.
You don’t have to subject yourself to hurt but you can love from your heart.
