There is a movement today that refuses to listen to Jesus’ words before or even after the Cross. In the book of Revelation, Jesus speaks to 7 churches and He commands 5 of them to repent. Whenever this movement speaks of repentance, it is a social repentance, with no Godly sorrow or fear of sin’s consequences. You cannot read the Bible and naturally draw the conclusions of this movement. We must read the Bible with our eyes open.

Here is what Jesus says to His churches:

The Church of Ephesus:

A church that left their first love – Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and REPENT, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

The Church in Pergamos:

A church that believed the doctrine of Balaam and the Nicolatians leading to worldliness – Revelation 2:16 REPENT; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

The Church in Thyatira:

A church that believed Jezebel’s doctrine leading to worldliness – Revelation 2:21-22 And I gave her space to REPENT of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they REPENT of their deeds.

The Church in Sardis:

A dead church with defiled garments – Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and REPENT. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

The Church of the Laodiceans:

A lukewarm church – Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and REPENT.

Jesus has a message to His churches.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Unfortunately, many are going to church not to hear what the Spirit says, but to listen to false preachers who are filled with seducing spirits.
