Every parent knows the deadly combinations: pampers, wipes and formula, which are enough to bankrupt any father or mother. Long nights, no sleep, the panic of the first cold, doctor visits, injections, did I say long nights? Crying, bawling, did I say no sleep? Poops explosions, carrying a bag with enough gadgets to make 007 blush.
They get big by age one – talks, smartness, school books, big man doing homework again. In the blink of an eye you are walking down the aisle. You give her away to another man and you think, “Oh I miss the pampers…”
Why did God make us?
God made you because He loves you….there is love, then there is crazy love. On the Cross, I see a man bleeding, back ripped open, hands and feet nailed, thorns pressed into His head – He looks like a bloody piece of meat – so I look away and hear the voice of God say, “This is my Son.”
So I look again, I stare and am forever mashed up by His love. What can I say? I really do not understand….I still don’t. 20 years serving Him, I still do not understand…every bruise is beautiful, every scar, every wound, every drop of His blood leaves me speechless.
As a preacher, before I stand before any crowd, I fill my heart with His love and I open my mouth and attempt to describe the indescribable. After every message, I have a sense of what a poor job I have done in conveying His love. So I mount the pulpit again, still in awe, realizing my job is not only to bring understanding but rather to invite men and women to stand in awe…
I saw Him once in a dream, He showed me the harvest and said to me, “Let man ask for the gift of love.”
I will stand before Him one day and until that day, I will make every scar beautiful.
Isaiah 40:18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
Sex? A fete? porn? lust? money? nice car? woman? man? ha! I have chosen, I have made my choice! To call it a choice is insulting…dung or His love. As for me, I will make every scar beautiful.
I have made my choice. Have you?
