Deal or No Deal

Allow me to present a scenario to you. You are in great financial need, exhausted all possible avenues, but unable to meet the need, you also have a deadline to acquire the money and it’s about that time. A stranger approaches you with a suit case and says that in that case is the exact amount of money you need, which is let’s say $10,000.00. Out of the blue he pulls out another case and says that case contains $10,000,000.00. He presents you with an offer.

Take the $10,000.00 now and make your deadline, but pay him back in one year. Or wait one year and get the $10,000,000.00, debt free.

Now most of you are probably saying right now that only a fool will take the $10,000.00, to meet an immediate need and give up an opportunity to be debt free for the rest of your life.

Unfortunately, millions of people make this choice in life.

Would you give up eternal wealth, joy, peace and happiness for a moment called time? Many make this choice when they choose the momentary pleasures of this life to satisfy their immediate needs. Things like sex, money, comfort, over a life free from sin and full of the love and grace of God that is able to keep you standing until that faithful day when we see Him face to face.

If you choose the pleasures of this life, like the $10,000.00 deal, you’re going to have to pay for it with your very life. Eternal life however, is a free gift. You may have some suffering and persecutions to endure in time, but similar to the deal, if you wait one year, sure they might end up repossessing your car or house, but hey, if I have to be uncomfortable and a bit out of place for one year and then live in exorbitant wealth and comfort for the rest of my life, I’ll do it.

I choose to wait.

I choose to believe that my God would supply all my needs according to His riches in glory.

I choose to give up my life now, that I might have it for eternity. Sure I have needs, but I don’t put them above the will of my Father. Why not make the right choice today, choose Jesus and His gift of eternal life.
