We become whatever image we worship. This is why God commanded us to not make images or bow before them. God loves us and desires us to walk in His image and likeness. Hey, it’s the best image possible!

This is why God hates idolatry because it robs us of God’s best and perverts the image of God.

Preachers today feel the need to dress up God to make Him more acceptable to the world. They want to create a god in their own image and likeness.

It is commonly preached today that – God is not angry at sinners – yet the Word of God declares:

Psalms 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. Every day means every day – before and after the Cross. These preachers are confused about how God could both love the sinner and be angry at him at the same time.

Then God does some things that just shocks modern day preachers as He shakes off the socially acceptable garments of men:

In Acts 5, a husband and wife lied to the Holy Spirit and were struck dead. I once heard someone say that Peter was a novice in grace and Peter killed them with his words – lol. Who killed Ananias and Sapphira?

In Acts 13, the hand of the Lord came on guy and made him blind – many preachers seem to be blind to these verses too. Who blinded Elymas?

In Revelation 16, God commands the seven angels, to pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth – I guess God was still angry.

Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Colossians 3:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

As God’s children, He has sworn that He will never be angry with you because you are appointed to love not to wrath.

However, there is a wrath to come for the children of disobedience. Notice this wrath is linked to the return of Christ and judgment of the world.

God’s love is not the only reason why we call the world to repentance but there is also a wrath and judgment to come. Preachers today need to stop reading the Bible with liquid paper and preach the uncompromising word of God.
