I want you to know how sovereign and supernatural our God is. This is what happened recently as I was traveling. I was on a plane from Austin to Houston, in the row behind me a guy was talking to a lady about the benefits of Yoga. He went on and on as if Yoga was the answer to all and he began to teach the lady certain things.

As we disembarked the plane, I believed the Lord wanted me to talk to her, so I caught up with her. I said to her, “I couldn’t help overhearing you guys speaking about Yoga.” I told her nothing is wrong with exercise and stretching but there is a spiritual side to Yoga that is not of God. We walked and she listened.

The lady told me she was not familiar with the airport and asked me where her gate was.

I told her that her gate is on her ticket, I asked her for her ticket and as I looked at it I saw “gate unassigned”. I told her it wasn’t a problem that there are monitors where we will see her flight and gate.

We walked together looking for some monitors. I could see that she was a bit concerned about being unfamiliar with the environment.

As we reached the monitors, she asked me what my gate was. I told her my gate was E21 and I was going to Trinidad and Tobago, an island in the Caribbean. She shared with me that she was going to New York and I really wanted some more time to share Christ with her.

As we looked at the monitor, we saw hundreds of flights as Houston is one of the busiest airports in the world. As flights flashed on the board, we finally located her flight and the monitor displayed, E21, she was shocked. Of all the possibilities, her gate was E21. Her flight went from unassigned to E21. She looked at me strangely. She wondered and deeply stirred, she said, “This is God.” I shared with that I have a wife and daughter and I guess she was now sure, that I wasn’t an angel.

Plane heading to a new destination

We walked and I shared the Gospel and God’s love. Finally, after a beautiful walk we reached our gate. Her flight was before mine. We stopped and chatted some more. With tears in her eyes, we said our goodbyes with a hug and a kiss. She was filled with tremendous joy!

As I walked away, I thought of how amazing our God is…..”gate unassigned!”……ha!…….It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. God has a divine assignment for you…God is waiting on our obedience to go from unassigned to assigned……
