Abraham was a man who encountered God, he experienced God. When you experience God, only God will do. We need an experience of God, you need an experience of God. Moses was a man that also encountered God, he stood in a holy place and spoke to the All Consuming Fire.

I tell you, when you experience God only God will do.

You will be forever messed up.

When Moses started his journey with God, God told him that he was going to a Promise Land. Oh boy, did God talk up that land….a land flowing with milk and honey! However, one day God got so fed up with His people, that He told Moses, “Take the people that YOU brought out of Eqypt and take them to the Promise Land.” So God and Moses began to have an argument. Moses stood his ground and told God, “If You don’t go with us, I am not going anywhere.” He essentially said, “You could keep Your promise land if You don’t come with it.” – I believe he made God blush.

Some of us are not looking for a Promise Land but a Promise Man.

Maybe, you are looking for a Promise Woman, flowing with honey – a sweet man or sweet woman – lol. We can be so captivated with the “promise”, that we don’t even care if God goes up or is in it. We eventually find ourselves in a relationship with someone who is not a true believer. We don’t care if Jesus is in the promise. I tell you, when you truly experience God you will say – Honey, you could keep your honey! I don’t care how sweet it is – if Jesus is not there – I want nothing to do with it!

Abraham was a man who knew God. God called him The friend of God. What a title! God said, “Abraham will forever be my friend.” He believed God. He was a man that believed God faithfully until he received his promise. He received his Isaac, his son. One day God told him, “Take your son whom you love and offer him to me.”

Abraham loved God more than the promise and was willing to give up his promise in obedience to God.

Finally, after all he went through Abraham made it to the Promise Land. You would think that he would immediately occupy the land and start to construct buildings and other properties. Instead the Bible says, “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Hebrews 8:8-10

I told you once you experience God, only God will do.

Abraham looked around in the Promise Land and something was missing – God!

Life can be like that, maybe you have dreams or a promise you desire. Finally, when you get your promise, you are still not content or complete. You say to God, “Father, I thank you for my breakthrough, I thank you for my house. I thank you for my job, the finances, my health – but there has got to be more. I want more of you God.” You see, along the way, along the journey you got to know God and now only God will do. In Christ, we have received all of God but we can have a greater awareness or experience of His Presence.

What an awesome plan God has for us to know Him, to experience Him……Jesus, now that I know you, only you will do!
