Worry is a form of meditation that focuses on evil outcomes. Worry often begins with a natural seed, like a sprained finger. Next, you can expect the “what if” syndrome. Let me elaborate, “what if it gets infected”, “what if, what if….” Worry explores all possible evil outcomes until destruction and death seem to be realities.
“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven…” Col 3:1
I want to encourage you to think on some greater, enduring realities:
- God is with and in me.
- God will not fail me
- God will not abandon me.
- Holiness is in me
- Joy is in me
- Love is in me
- Strength is in me
- Innocence is in me
- Greater is He that is in me.
You are a new creature in Christ. Don’t you love that new car smell?
You smell holy, righteous and innocent.
‘May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
