Hey Guys…..I am sure you have noticed that “blogging” has really taken off these past few years. I blog, you blog, he/she blogs – EVERYONE blogs! LOL
A blog (as stated by Wikipedia ) is ” (a truncation of the expression web log) is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries” — *yawn. To put it simply, a blog is a written opinion on just about anything. But for me, why write about anything when you can write about the “one thing” that matters – which is Jesus.
So here is why I blog…
1Because I am inspired by the best B-LOGGER (B for Bible) that ever walked the face of the earth.
When you look at it, the best BLOG that was ever written (and will remain the best forever) is the Bible. It is God’s heart, appreciation, love and instruction towards the people He so desperately loves. In no way am I comparing my writings to His but He is definitely the reason WHY I write. It is funny how you can see God in the simplest things and it turns out to be so profound.
To me, He is the climax and culmination of every blog I will ever write and I believe that I can show case Him in everything I write about – from work, to school, to cooking, to cleaning – you get the picture. You see He has become MY LIFE and with each passing day I grow more dependent on Him. So it is impossible for me to write about “life” and not write about Jesus because to me – they are one in the same.
2Because I minister to myself.
I do not know about you, but once I start to write, thoughts just flow and I really hear the voice of God speaking to me and helping me as I go along. Revelation comes and with it a better understanding of the situation (no matter what it is). Sometimes it is good to get your thoughts on paper (if you like writing) – you can release a lot of truths that might have otherwise not come forth; had you not put pen to paper. Sometimes when you read it back to yourself you wonder “who is this person speaking” and then it hits you……It is God speaking.
A friend told me once “God is always speaking”…..that meant a lot to me. He is not just speaking to hear Himself talk but He is actually speaking to YOU. All we have to do is listen and it is not that hard – He has made it very easy. If God lives in us (which He does – as believers), then He is in fact the closest person to us – (you cannot get any closer than living in someone now – can you? LOL) so ‘naturally’ we should hear Him first above everyone else. In reality though, this does not happen nearly as much as it should and I for one am making it my utmost mission to listen when He speaks and write it down if I choose to.
Acts 17: 26 – 27:
“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek
the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;”
The latter part of the verse “though He is not far from each one of us” came to me as I was writing this blog and gave me an image of a Father who is most interested in the lives of His kids.
A Father who loves us – not from a far, but from within.
If I cannot learn from my own mistakes and listen to the voice of God in me – how can I listen to the voice of God in anyone else?
So yeah…..I write because God speaks to me and it helps me get through “it”.
3Because sharing my experiences can help others.
Yes, it is that simple. What I have realized is that people think a lot…..a whole lot and a lot of people think about the same things. Have you ever read something and you felt like the person took the words right out of your mouth? (I’m sure you are nodding to yourself) – That has happened to me on many occasions and most of them actually helped me deal with certain things. It take guts to write about your personal experiences – the good, the bad and the ugly; as long as there is a message in it – trust me you are helping someone out there.
Knowing that my openness can help someone else is worth putting pen to paper or in this case fingers to keys – don’t you think?
God inspired men to write the bible – think of what would have happened if they refused to (imagine refusing God…Selah).
Inspiration made them write and inspiration kept them writing.
They shared their personal experiences with God – some good and some not so good.” For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4
Men like Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon and Paul were blogging the old fashioned way – they were “B for bible-logging”… LOL
So that sums it up basically…….3 easy points all linked to the greatest man I will ever know.
My name is Chrisal Martin and my blog is “Chrisal Clear”. I am a writer with a purpose and I am here to make a difference. I am inspired by Jesus and He is the reason why I blog.
