The children of Israel continuously murmured and complained to Moses about all the nice food they ate while they were slaves in Egypt. It was so bad they even went on to say “if only we had died back in Egypt”(Ex16:3). They were hungry and desired some tasty food. They thought God was holding back from them and even starving them in the wilderness but God had much better pleasures awaiting them in the promise land and also on the way.
“But I would feed you with the finest wheat. I would satisfy you with wild honey from the rock.” Psalm 81:16
If only they had asked.
Later on they sent spies to spy out the land to see what was ahead of them. To their surprise they saw awesomely huge juicy grapes but also strong and huge giants in the land. So in fear, they started to confess and accept defeat over there lives and the lives of others. Hey don’t let a situation, your limitations or even the devil stop you from moving forward in the things Jesus has purchased for you by His blood. Seek them out with no turning back.
His grace is with you.
Lastly, in the promise land they had to destroy Jericho but the people locked the city gates in fear of the Israelites because of what the Lord was doing for them. So God had a plan to pull down the walls of Jericho by the Israelites marching around the city walls and shouting for victory by faith.
God has opened new doors in your life, knock on them by faith and see those doors open wide. And hey, if you don’t see it open up, surely the walls will fall just so you can enter into His promise. Your Heavenly Father loves you and Has provided everything you need already in Christ Jesus. He isn’t holding back from you but wants you to come to Him. The biggest problem the Isrealites had was a simple one, they didn’t believe God loved them and was for them and as a result they desired pleasures more than God.
But oh how the Father loves us and has given us all things freely in Christ Jesus.
He just wants us to come to Him because He knows He is the only person that can satisfy us and not the temporal things. So knowing we have need of both He has hidden all pleasures and treasures in His Son Jesus Christ. What good is it that you have your belly full but will soon die? The taste of a pleasure will soon run dry but God’s grace and mercy goes on and on. So what we really need in this life is the source of life and that is Jesus Christ.
He alone can satisfy.
God is for you and wants you to be blessed with all Godly things, He only asks that you would believe in His love.
I have found out the more I chase after Him, is the more I see His love. The more I see His love, is the more I discover who I am. And the more I discover who I am is the more I experience the oneness of His love as His Child. Why not declare this over your life “All that the Father has is mine in Christ Jesus, so I come to you Daddy.”
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Matthew 7:7-8
