Many come to Church but with no true desire to learn. They attend to great study with many questions but still seek no answers. While Rome burns, they ask, “Who was the oldest man in the Bible?” They are willing to come closer but never close enough to touch God.
“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Tim 3:7
The “deceived” find peace in confusion and rest in turmoil. Their consciences are quieted and are no longer convicted. Indeed, stolen waters are without a ripple. Often in life when people say, “Never happier, never more joyful!”, they pursue their dreams only to awake to a nightmare.
Conviction for the deceived is nothing more than a heartbeat or a proof of life.
Conviction without repentance is nothing more than a faint pulse. Hey, after 10 years in Church, you are still trying to understand why fornication is wrong or how a lady should dress. Listen, the problem may not be the message but your heart.
Sadly, many Churches play violin music as people march to Hell.
May the violin become a trumpet and may an alarm be sounded on God’s Holy Mountain.
Preacher, is your message this Sunday – 5 ways to prosper – when people are finding a broad way to Hell? Put down the violin and pick up a trumpet.
“As for you, son of man, your people are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other, ‘Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD.’
My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.
Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice.” Ezekiel 33
