Someone who believes what they believe is to be respected. I can even understand if someone sincerely believes lies. However, when someone is confronted with the truth and still holds on to lies or puts up smoke screens, then their motive definitely comes into question.
I am talking about someone who sees the truth but does everything in their power to hold on to lies. It is either pride, wickedness or something else operating in this person’s life.
Preachers today refuse to speak or preach against sin as they claim that the Holy Spirit will never point out sin in a believer’s life. They try to teach things that they don’t understand and hence, establish error. They believe preaching against sin will make a person sin conscious. They fail to understand or believe that sin is Satan’s work and comes with satanic consequences.
So here is what the Bible teaches:
“Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” Hebrews 12:4-9
“Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God – I say this to your shame.” 1 Cor 15:34
“It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things….” Acts 15:29
“And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.” 2 Corinthians 12:21
“Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.” We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. We should not test Christ, as some of them did—and were killed by snakes. And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel. These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” 1 Cor 10:6-12
God is a father and like any father, He will correct and warn his child of sin and the consequences of disobedience.
The Holy Spirit will never try to convince us that we are sinners but rather, children of God. However, the Holy Spirit will convict us of sin, and call us to turn away from sin and repent. He does this because He loves us and He knows sin will destroy our lives.
As the scripture says in Romans 8:16 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God”
If the spirit you have doesn’t convict, convince or warn you of sin, you may have another spirit but his name isn’t “Holy”. A child reading the Bible will not conclude many of the false teachings permeating the Body of Christ today.
Listen carefully to preachers and their position on sin. Sin is Satan’s work and anyone who promotes sin is Satan’s helper.
2 Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
